About
The Day of the Dead Family Festival is a family festival at the Horniman Museum and Gardens celebrating Día de Muertos. It is presented by the Horniman in partnership with MexiBrit. Inspired by Mexico City, the day features decorated spaces with papel picado, marigold pathways, giant calaveras and traditional ofrendas, an opening ceremony with Aztec dancers and musicians, live performances from Mariachi to Sonidero DJs, and creative activities such as mask-making, face painting and storytelling. Visitors can also contribute to a community ofrenda and browse a market of Mexican and Latin American crafts, design and street food.
