About
A screening of Double Vision, a 2002 film by Chen Kuo-fu made in Taiwan and Hong Kong, with Tony Leung Ka-fai, René Liu, Leon Dai and David Morse. In Taipei, disgraced detective Huang Huo-tu joins forces with FBI agent Kevin Richter to investigate a series of inexplicable deaths. As clues lead from a murder in a Christian church to hallucinogenic fungus and a mysterious Taoist cult, forensic reason collides with ancient beliefs and the boundary between serial murder and the supernatural dissolves. A landmark of Taiwanese horror and a major box-office success, it was selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes.

Critics
6.4Good
Critics praise the atmospheric tension, clever twists, strong leads and stylish blending of genres. They fault a dragging, padded second half, thin dread or horror, and a muddled mix of ideas.
