About

An exhibition at Valentines Mansion presenting Venetta Nicole's work, part of Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure's celebration of Black History Month in partnership with Redbridge Council. 'A Language of Colour and Form' gathers Nicole's intuitive work across abstraction, portraiture and architectural forms, turning personal experiences, memories, cultural heritage and emotional landscapes into vibrant, layered compositions. Nicole is a London-based Caribbean artist and ex-Ilford resident who graduated from Middlesex University in 2007, winning the Women in Art Prize Susan Angoy Award (2022) and Tim May Memorial Award (2026). Her show explores identity, belonging, resilience and memory, inviting viewers to bring their own interpretations to colour and form as a language of freedom.
