From Another Place

From Another Place is a strange and otherworldly performance evening bringing together Figurant, Ghost Mind and Chansons Obliques. Figurant is a live audiovisual work by a visual artist, two musicians and a writer that playfully explores the concept of the séance, using 1960s 8mm film altered by submersion in the River Ravensbourne, with projected film, improvised sound, field recordings and spoken word interacting in real time. Ghost Mind improvise with instruments, toys, objects and sounds processed through their machine, conjuring a sound that is sometimes orchestral, sometimes post-hauntological, as if improvising with our memories and dreams. Chansons Obliques present 'A Viennese Ghost Story', and the running time is approximately 120+ minutes, for ages 16+.
