About

The Conch is an event where artists share new work that is still in development, with the audience invited to respond after each presentation by sharing thoughts, questions and reflections. This edition brings together artists who explore domestic architectures not simply as backdrops, but as sites of labour and performance that can take on a life of their own. Georgina Hill performs a work on the overlooked history of cottage industries in Britain, Alia Hamaoui reworks behind-the-scenes footage from the whodunit crime film 8 Femmes, and Beatrice Vorster presents BOO!, a performance made with Yasmin Vardi that deconstructs the ghost-movie genre. The event takes place at South London Gallery.
