About

Cecilia Brunson Projects presents "Gabriel Chaile: Volverme Pequeño para habitar lo Grande", an exhibition of new sculptural work. The Argentine artist Gabriel Chaile shows a group of domestically scaled amphoras made from clay, mud and adobe, each paired with a support structure he built. Drawing on the traditions of the Indigenous communities of Northeast Argentina, he reinterprets these ancient vessel forms as carriers of cultural memory. Exploring what he calls the "genealogy of form", he presents the vessels as intimate, almost anthropomorphic presences that preserve and generate stories.
