About

A guided walking tour uncovering the archaeology of the north-west of the Roman city of Londinium. Archaeologist Dr Andrew Lane leads it, exploring how Second World War destruction allowed excavations of an area once crowded with gladiators, soldiers and craftspeople. Starting at the Amphitheatre, the tour visits part of the Roman city wall and finishes in the rarely accessible remains of the Roman Fort Gate, with about 15 minutes of walking and uneven surfaces. It lasts approximately 1.5 hours and runs at 11am and 2pm.
