ILC Workshop: Own the Room - Developing Skills in Public Speaking with VR

A virtual reality workshop on public speaking skills, where participants practice short presentations in immersive scenarios of their choice. It is run by the Immersive Learning team at Birkbeck's Immersive Learning Centre, using the Bodyswaps platform. After an introductory talk covering preparation, audience connection and dealing with nerves, the VR environment gives feedback on pace, gestures and audience engagement, and you can swap bodies to see your presentation from the audience's perspective. The session offers personalised guidance in a supportive, low-pressure environment, with the chance to keep practising with Bodyswaps at home.
