About
Jazz At The George - SoulFunks is a live soul and funk show at The George IV pub. It features Soulfunks, a nine-piece band formed seven years ago, playing well-attended gigs across London and the south east. Their setlist mixes familiar classics and lesser-known numbers, including songs by James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Toots & The Maytals, plus Stax, Motown, seventies funk and soulful 70s reggae. Three female vocalists, Amaziah Rose, Leslie Williams and Viesha Tews, sing harmonies over tight rhythms and a driving horn section, with two reggae and ska veterans on drums and vocals.
