Meet the Monsters – Family Tour

Meet the Monsters – Family Tour is a family-friendly guided Halloween walk around the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs, starting at the Hylaeosaurus Head. Palaeontologist Dr Cassius Morrison leads the walk, which explores how Crystal Palace Park became the global birthplace of DinoMania in the 1850s and the stories behind the famous sculptures, once known as monsters. Along the way, the tour looks at whether seasons existed during the Age of the Dinosaurs and how winters and autumn leaves immortalised the dinosaurs' world, also covering the fossil record, biodiversity, extinction and the recent completed restoration of the sculptures. The walk lasts up to 1.5 hours, follows paths around the lake, is suitable for ages 10 and up with younger children welcome, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
