Mikey and Nicky
Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Place 7, WC2H 7BY London, Chinatown
About
A screening of the film 'Mikey and Nicky', a crime thriller about two small-time mobsters. Director Elaine May casts frequent collaborators John Cassavetes and Peter Falk as Nicky and Mikey, lifelong friends whose relationship has turned sour. Over one nocturnal night, Nicky hides in a hotel after the boss he stole from puts a hit out on him, and calls on Mikey, the one person he thinks can save him. With Ned Beatty among the supporting cast, this portrait of male friendship turned tragic is an unsung masterpiece of American cinema.

Critics
7.8Very good
The critic hails the film as a neglected gem, praising the two lead performances and the director's command of criminal dialogue and sudden violence. Nothing is faulted.
