Moor Mother: Fetish Bones (10th Anniversary tour) + Eve Matin
Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Mall, London, Covent Garden
£24.21 (including DICE fees + £1.50 venue levy)
About
A live music evening at the Institute of Contemporary Arts featuring Moor Mother performing her debut album Fetish Bones on its 10th anniversary tour, with support from harpist Eve Matin. Moor Mother is the performing name of Camae Ayewa, a Philadelphia-based musician, poet and visual artist who recorded Fetish Bones in her home studio using machines, field recordings and analog noisemakers. The album's 13 tracks fuse punk's visceral anger with the improvisatory spirit of Sun Ra, and it was named an Album of the Year by The Wire and Jazz Right Now. Eve Matin, a Peruvian-Persian harpist and composer, is joined by Berlin-based artist Alex Rapp in a dialogue between acoustic and electronic sound.
