About

A free outdoor exhibition showing works from NINAGAWA Mika's Captive Blooms in Soho Photography Quarter, just outside The Photographers' Gallery on Ramillies Street. The Japanese artist, also a maker of films, video and spatial installations, builds worlds bursting with colour and emotion: intensely coloured photographs of blooming flowers, shimmering goldfish, water, city nights and portraits that dissolve the boundary between the real and the imagined. Her images of domesticated aquatic life and of Japan's springtime cherry blossom, one of her most recognisable motifs, transform the quarter into a place of both spectacle and reflection, bridging art, fashion and pop culture.
