About
An online talk hosted by Historic Buildings & Places exploring how Athelhampton House, a Grade I listed Tudor manor in Dorset, was transformed into a carbon-neutral building. Speaker Stefan Pitman, Founder and Director of SPASE, shares the story of the Athelhampton Zero retrofit project, including its 130kW solar array, heat pumps, and one of the UK's largest Tesla Powerwall installations. The project cut an annual energy bill of over £100,000 to as little as £0–£500 and saves more than 100 tonnes of CO₂ each year. Stefan will discuss the challenges and lessons of integrating renewable technologies into a protected historic building without compromising its character.
