About

"Painting the French Riviera" is an exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in the Main Galleries at Burlington House, running from 2 October 2026 to 31 January 2027. It is organised by the Royal Academy of Arts, London in collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art. The exhibition tells the story of how the Côte d'Azur dazzled modern art's great innovators, showing how its radiance roused painters such as Picasso, Matisse, Cezanne, Renoir and Klein, as well as giants of literature, cinema and fashion. It brings this to life through more than 160 works, including paintings, sculpture, travel posters and film, from the 1870s to the 1960s.
