Palestine Cinema Days Around the World: Blessed Blessed Oblivion & With Hasan in Gaza

A special screening of two films: Jumana Manna's 'Blessed Blessed Oblivion' and Kamal Aljafari's 'With Hasan in Gaza', shown as part of Palestine Cinema Days Around the World. LUX and Mosaic Rooms are collaborating on the event, organised by Filmlab Palestine for its 4th edition. 'Blessed Blessed Oblivion' (2010, 21') sketches a portrait of masculine performativity in East Jerusalem, manifested in gyms, barber shops and body parlours and inspired by Kenneth Anger's 'Scorpio Rising'. 'With Hasan in Gaza' (2025, 106') is a filmic journal of a journey the filmmaker made in 2001 from the north to the south of Gaza, searching for the man with whom he had spent seven months in an Israeli prison, capturing daily life amid moments of vibrancy and darker realities.
