About

An exhibition of a new single-screen video installation titled Pasodoble by the artist Paul Pfeiffer, shown at Thomas Dane Gallery. The work traces the networks that sustain bullfighting, exploring how labour, performance and mediation sustain the ritual of the corrida. Rather than its climactic moments, it foregrounds the interdependent dynamics by which collective acts of witness and imaging produce feeling and coded meaning. Pfeiffer, born in Honolulu in 1966 and based in New York, has long explored the cultural power of spectacle and how images reorganise desire, belief and memory.
