About
A performance by Polish artist Ewa Poniatowska, titled 'We were too poor to spend our vacation in the country', staged at South London Gallery alongside Monika Sosnowska's exhibition 'Weight of Matter'. It explores borders, smuggling and Polish commercial tourism in the 1970s-1990s, drawing on her research into black markets and underground commerce in communist Poland. The work features a musical score by Ewa and is performed with Japanese artist Kazumi Nishimura. It begins in the Main Gallery and continues in the Clore Studio.
