Pride at the Bridge Theatre
National Theatre, Waterloo
About
Pride at the Bridge Theatre is a new musical based on an incredible true story, running approximately 2 hours 30 minutes including a 20 minute interval. It is presented by P&P Productions in association with the National Theatre, Pathé, Calamity Films and David Binder Productions, with writer Stephen Beresford and director Matthew Warchus reuniting to bring the story to the stage. Set in summer 1984, it follows 24-year-old activist Mark Ashton, who rallies a group of lesbian and gay campaigners to raise money for striking miners in South Wales. Fuelled by hope, solidarity and their love of a laugh, the two communities transform division into unity through an extraordinary bond of friendship.
