About
Doc N' Roll: Punk Brighton + Q&A is a screening of the documentary Punk Brighton, followed by a question-and-answer session with its director. The film tells how a punk movement grew in Brighton around The Vault, an underground burial crypt turned legendary gig venue, with bands like The Piranhas, The Depressions and Peter & The Test Tube Babies turning humour, mischief and music into a fiercely communal scene. Built from fifteen years of interviews, performances and animation, it captures a scene that confronted fascism, rocked against racism and fought to save Brighton & Hove Albion. Featuring Fatboy Slim, it celebrates the city's DIY spirit and two figures who defined it: Attrix Records founder Rick Blair and The Piranhas' Bob Grover.
