An online zine titled 'Reveries on Ruin Value and the Future of (a) Museum(s)', loosely modelled on pamphlets authored by Sir John Soane. It collects the research and collaborations of artist Simon Faride, who added an 'e' to his surname just as Soane did, during his 2025 Jerwood Artist Residency at the museum. The zine explores the concept of 'ruin value' (Ruinenwert), the desire to design a building to work both in its original form and later as a successful ruin, and playfully applies this notion to imagining potential museum futures. A collaborative scrapbook with contributions from museum staff, it presents the Soane Museum as a living place and pairs playful speculations with serious consideration of conservation and the long-term future of museums.
