About
Singer and pianist Robin Phillips, joined by trumpeter James Brady, leads an intimate evening of vocals, piano and trumpet celebrating the music and legacy of jazz icon Chet Baker, as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. The programme draws on songs made famous by Baker, including Almost Blue, Let's Get Lost and You Don't Know What Love Is, and is inspired by stories the two musicians gathered while interviewing people across Europe who knew him, for a new documentary. They are joined by Charlie Pyne on acoustic bass, Alex Best on drums and guest guitarist Louis Thorne for a deeply personal journey into Baker's fragile vocals, haunting trumpet sound and enduring musical legacy.
