About

A concert by drummer, composer and bandleader Sarathy Korwar at The Wilds in Barking Riverside, part of the EFG London Jazz Festival's programme celebrating South Asian music and its intersections with jazz. Korwar's music fuses jazz, electronics and Indian folk and classical influences with a focus on decoloniality, community, race and transcendence. He performs two sets: first solo, then joined by London-based saxophonist and composer Chris Williams for the closing set. His latest album, There Is Beauty, There Already, celebrates the melodic and rhythmic power of the drum ensemble.
