Solo Show - KWAK KYUNG-TAE

Flow Gallery presents a solo show of ceramics by Korean artist Kwak Kyung-tae, his first solo presentation there, showing vessels and tableware. He works exclusively in Onggi (옹기) and Buncheong (분청), drawing on the traditions of the Korean peninsula, particularly the Joseon Dynasty, and applying them in a modern context. His wheel-thrown and altered work echoes nature's forms with spontaneous marks and gestural brushwork on large pots, balancing the crude and the sublime power of nature's imperfection. He has exhibited throughout East Asia and Europe, and his pieces are sold in galleries and shops across Europe, Asia and the USA.
