About
A song recital titled "Songs of the Beloved Earth" at Wigmore Hall, lasting about two hours with an interval. Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron and Swiss tenor Mauro Peter join pianist Joseph Middleton in a programme of works by Bach, Mahler, Schubert, Britten and George Crumb. Inspired by Enlightenment-era reverence for nature, it offers reflections on humankind's relationship with the natural world, spiced with surprises including a Britten boogie-woogie and Crumb's Primeval Sounds for solo piano.
