About
A film screening of Southern Journey (Revisited) at Walthamstow Trades Hall, presented by OffBeat as an American special. The film was made by Fifth Column Films and retraces the route of Alan Lomax's Southern Journey of the 1950s, which he undertook with the not yet famous Shirley Collins.

Critics
The critic praises the film's rich texture, powerful musical performances and thought-provoking portrayal of southern culture and history. The film is faulted for avoiding a deeper confrontation with the political mainstream that claims ownership of that culture.
