About

"The Animals Come to the Table" is a bold, witty new play about the climate crisis in which the animal kingdom summons humanity to the negotiating table. It is written by Timberlake Wertenbaker, one of the UK's leading playwrights, whose previous work includes "Our Country's Good". In the story, a negotiator and an interpreter are called to a secret emergency meeting where a chicken, a rat, a snow leopard and a host of voices from the natural world demand an end to exploitation and ecological destruction. Blending politics, philosophy and mischief, it offers an urgent, unflinching and delightfully creative response to the ecological crisis facing our planet.
