About

We Anchor in Hope is a stage play about the final night of The Anchor, a London pub closing for good, as Kenny and his friends go out with a bang of karaoke, a blow-up sheep and a lot of Campari. As secrets, grudges and forgotten dreams surface and the bar is drunk dry, there is more to lose than just a pub. The sharply funny and melancholy play is by Anna Jordan, the award-winning writer behind TV's Succession, Killing Eve and One Day, and was previously a 2024 hit for the club. This amateur production is staged by Teddington Theatre Club, directed by Joanna Taylor, and recommended for ages 16+.
