The Fourth Choir The Gloaming Between Worlds
Heaven, Villiers Street 10A, WC2N 6NG London, Covent Garden
About
A Halloween concert of atmospheric music for choir and cello, performed a cappella and with cello, at Heaven. The Fourth Choir, London's critically-acclaimed LGBTQ+ classical chamber choir, and leading cellist Katherine Jenkinson perform under conductor Jamie Powe. The Gloaming: Between Worlds moves from eerie, elemental and folk-influenced works, including Katerina Gimon's Air and Fire and pieces by Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Coleridge-Taylor, to sacred music for All Hallow's Eve. It features the UK première of Paweł Łukaszewski's Seven Last Words of Christ, John Taverner's Svyati, Alexander Campkin's The Ghost of Shadwell Stair and the Dies Irae woven throughout the evening.
