About
Disney's The Lion King is a West End stage musical at the Lyceum Theatre, bringing the world of the African savannah to the stage in a spectacle for all ages. Adapted from the 1994 animation film and directed and designed by Julie Taymor, it tells of Simba, a young lion prince who flees his kingdom after the death of his father Mufasa and, helped by characters like Rafiki, Timon and Pumbaa, finds the courage to embrace his destiny as king. The production uses over 200 puppets and is set to a score by Elton John and Tim Rice with songs such as 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' and 'The Circle of Life'. Running about 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval, it has been selling out at the Lyceum Theatre for over two decades.
