Tunde Jegede: Bach's cello suites and kora music of Mali.

TUNDE JEGEDE — An Evening of Kora & Cello Music is a solo concert at October Gallery pairing the West African kora with the cello. It is performed by Tunde Jegede, an internationally acclaimed composer, producer, cellist and kora virtuoso, founder of the Art Ensemble of Lagos and the African Classical Music Ensemble. The programme brings together Bach's solo cello suites and the royal court tradition of the kora, rooted in the musical heritage of medieval Mali. It opens with the kora, is followed by an interval, then continues with a second set on the cello and concludes with the kora.
