About
"Atalanta: The Long Shot" is a new queer musical, premiering at Culture Lab LIC as part of New Works Lab. It was written by Lucier&Rose, a queer musical theatre writing duo known for sapphic work. The show resurrects the mythology of Atalanta, the original Amazon and unsung heroine of Ancient Greece. Raised by a bear after being abandoned as an infant because of her sex, she returns to Grecian society on her eighteenth birthday to discover the life that should have been hers.
