About

Basics of Analog Tape Echo and Cassette Loops is a hands-on class at NYC Resistor in Brooklyn, an 18+ and masks-optional space. It is taught by Nat Homer, a New York native and experimental electronic musician with over 15 years of recording and performing experience who works with analog feedback systems. The primer covers magnetic tape, no-input mixing, tape loops and analog tape echo, showing how they work and how to set them up. Participants build a cassette loop, jam with reel-to-reel and cassette-based echo systems, and learn to extend the techniques with digital loopers and feedback systems; no equipment is required, though bringing items like blank cassettes and cables is encouraged.
