About

Daily Diversions is a performance work about community building through the practice of table tennis. It was created by artist Cherrie Yu in collaboration with table tennis players from around the world and a multigenerational group of dancers during her Performance AIRspace Residency at Abrons Arts Center. The work explores the shared vocabulary between postmodern dance and everyday athleticism. Yu, born in Xi'an, China and based in the United States, works in choreography, moving images, writing and installation.
