ERIN SHIRREFF NEW WORK

Erin Shirreff: New Work is a solo exhibition of new photographic works shown in the back galleries. The Canadian artist Erin Shirreff, born in 1975 and living in Montréal, explores how the experience of a material object is lost or gained when it becomes an image. The show brings together collaged archival pigment prints titled Ctlg, built from layered photographs of her earlier sculptures to form imagined, gravity-defying forms, alongside brown-, purple-, pink- and blue-toned cyanotype photograms that create a kind of two-dimensional sculpture on paper. These works both rework and inspire her sculptural practice, including new Corten steel sculptures.
