About
Family Studio: Making Crankies! is a 90-minute collaborative hands-on workshop for children ages five and up and their caregivers. It is led by puppeteer and fiber artist J Hann and draws inspiration from the exhibition Nike: Form Follows Motion. Participants are introduced to crankies, also known as storytelling machines, and families work together to create dynamic landscapes on a paper scroll for a pair of traveling puppet sneakers. All materials are provided, space is limited, registration is required in advance, and tickets to the Museum must be purchased separately.
