FJORD. The Pictures
Romanian Cultural Center, East 38th Street 200, 10016 New York, Manhattan
About
FJORD. The Pictures is an exhibition of photographs by Cristian Mungiu, shown at the Brâncuși Gallery from September 21 through November 30, 2026. The Romanian Cultural Institute in New York presents it in collaboration with Mobra Films in Romania and NEON. The pictures were made between August 2024 and April 2025 while Mungiu scouted locations and prepared his latest film, FJORD. Shot entirely with a phone, they move between landscapes, faces, architecture, objects, changing weather and unexpected encounters, marking the first time his long-standing photographic practice is shown in public view.
