About
Flatiron NoMad Celebrates Día de Muertos is a free, public celebration of the Mexican holiday held at the Flatiron North Plaza, at its fifth annual edition. The Flatiron NoMad Partnership brings it together with artists and cultural groups, offering an interactive community altar designed by Mestiz Studio and Powerhouse Arts, Mexican folklore performances by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, and live music by NYC-based collective Son Pecadores. Visitors can also join a flower-making workshop with Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders, booklet-making with Center for Book Arts, DIY printmaking and Marigold Flores de Papel with Poster House, a papel picado installation by Tanya Aguiñiga Studio, plus La Catrina face painting and skull decorations.
