Gershwin’s An American in Paris

A chamber music concert for pianos, lasting about two hours with an intermission, given by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at Alice Tully Hall. Five pianists—Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Alessio Bax, Anne-Marie McDermott, Evren Ozel, and Wu Han—play works for pianos side by side, celebrating the sonority of the piano. The program pairs Mozart's Sonata in C major for piano four hands with two-piano works by Chopin, Lutosławski, and Tansman (its US premiere), and closes with George Gershwin's An American in Paris arranged for two pianos.
