About
A screening of the documentary film "Grey Gardens". Made by Albert and David Maysles, codirected by Ellen Hovde and Muffie Meyer, it follows Big and Little Edie Beale, a mother and daughter who are high-society dropouts and reclusive cousins of Jackie Onassis, thriving amid the decay of their East Hampton mansion. The 1976 film became a cult classic and established Little Edie as a fashion icon and philosopher queen.

Critics
7.8Very good
Critics praise the immersive, unhurried technique and the film's absorbing, affectionate portrait of two unforgettable personalities. Some fault its ambiguity over whether the subjects were exploited rather than celebrated.
