In the Heights

The musical 'In the Heights' is performed on the mainstage of New York City Center. It is directed by David Mendizábal, with a Tony-winning score by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, and runs from October 28 to November 15, 2026. The story is set in the Washington Heights barrio, home to first- and second-generation immigrants from the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. It follows bodega owner Usnavi de la Vega, who dreams of moving to the Dominican Republic and is in love with Vanessa, as a colorful community shares its hopes in a neighborhood poor in appearance but rich in kindness and a sense of family.
