About

The Heart is a new musical about how one tragic loss leads to one hopeful life, connected by a donated beating heart. It has a book and additional lyrics by Kait Kerrigan and music and lyrics by Anne and Ian Eisendrath, directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Mandy Moore, and is based on Maylis de Kerangal's novel Réparer les Vivants. The story follows a young surfer whose life is cut short, a stranger given a second chance, and the medical team and two families whose single day changes everyone's future. The production, which originated at La Jolla Playhouse and is presented by Roundabout Theatre Company, runs 1 hour 30 minutes with no intermission.
