About
"From Folk to Form: Wire sculptures by Y. Suzanne Ócsai" is an exhibition of artistic wire sculptures shown at the Hungarian House from August to December 2026. The artist, Y. Suzanne Ócsai, a Hungarian American wire sculptor raised in the rural South largely disconnected from her ethnic background, explores Hungarian heritage in her search for a deeper connection to the land of her ancestors. Her pieces depict folk-art motifs such as Kalocsa and Matyó, famous Hungarian figures like Queen "Sissi" and Harry "Houdini", landmarks including Lake Balaton, the beloved vizsla, and aspects of her personal life. The sculptures can be viewed by appointment or before and during scheduled events, with open viewing dates to be announced this Fall.
