National Sawdust and Sarah Williams present Daniela Mack: 'SUR' Songs of Astor Piazzolla With JP Jofre and his quintet

An album launch performance of songs by Astor Piazzolla, given as a live concert in the space between recital and tango. It is co-produced by National Sawdust and Sarah Williams, starring Grammy-nominated Argentine mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack with Grammy-nominated Argentine bandoneonist JP Jofre and his quintet. SUR grew from Mack's childhood memory of hearing Piazzolla, and asks what his music can mean now in the voice of a contemporary classical singer, in Jofre's arrangements for bandoneon, violin, cello, piano, and double bass. The intimate evening features songs including Vuelvo al Sur, Balada Para un Loco, and Oblivion.
