About
A jazz concert at LunÀtico in Brooklyn, with two sets of 9PM and 10:15PM. Bassist Jorge Roeder leads his own quartet with double brass on the frontline: Philip Dizack on trumpet, Dan Blake on sax and Richie Barshay on drums. Originally from Lima, Peru, Roeder is regarded as one of the most expressive jazz bass players of his generation, blending a wide spectrum of influences from Afro-Peruvian roots to a raw rocker's energy. He has won a number of awards, including the 2007 International Society of Bassists Jazz Competition and a Grammy nomination for the Julian Lage Group's debut album.
