About
NYZ: Ordinary Mind Sesshin is a half-day or full-day Zen retreat held at the New York Zendo, offering a day of meditation practice. It is taught by Barry Magid, head teacher of Ordinary Mind Zendo, whose practice follows Charlotte Joko Beck's vision of psychologically-minded Zen adapted to American students in everyday life. The day includes zazen, a Dharma talk, dokusan (one-on-one interview with the teacher), oryoki lunch, liturgy, and work practice, and can also be joined via Zoom. The fee is $50–$100, free for Zen Studies Society members; registration is by email.
