About
A jazz guitar performance at Zinc by the Pasquale Grasso Trio, playing two sets in the evening. The trio is led by Italian-born guitarist Pasquale Grasso, praised by Pat Metheny as the best guitar player he has heard in years. Grasso's style draws on bebop pioneers like Bud Powell, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, along with the classical-guitar tradition, translating piano language onto the guitar. He won the Wes Montgomery International Jazz Guitar Competition in New York in 2015 and has since released solo-guitar recordings on Sony Masterworks.
