About
Pasquale Grasso Trio is a jazz performance at Birdland Jazz Club. The trio is led by Pasquale Grasso, an Italian-born guitarist based in New York City. Grasso is celebrated for a technique informed by bebop pioneers like Bud Powell, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie as well as the classical-guitar tradition, rather than by jazz guitarists. His playing earned praise from Pat Metheny, who called him the best guitar player he had heard in many years and later invited him to jam and share wisdom.
