About
PONCIA is a stage play in Spanish with English supertitles, a tribute to Federico Garcia Lorca on the 90th anniversary of his death. Written by the prestigious Spanish playwright Luis Luque and produced, designed and directed by Angel Gil Orrios, it centers on PONCIA, the maid from Lorca's original play 'The House of Bernarda Alba', who as a witness to the family dramas offers a new perspective on the events. She speaks of suicide, freedom, guilt, class, education and sex with the force of a voice that has been mistreated and silenced, connecting with contemporary audiences through the need to love one another in freedom.
