About

A lecture in the Representation Lecture series in which artist Mark West presents his practice of 'seeing things' and pareidolia in drawing, form-finding with flexible materials, and sculpture, followed by a Q&A. Mark West is a former professor of architecture whose drawing and painting since 1981 have accompanied his technical inventions in fabric-formed concrete architecture; he now works at his Atelier Surviving Logic in Montréal, Canada. His approach adopts methods of 'finding' rather than 'control', using surprisingly simple techniques to soften a longstanding fixation on control. Attendance is free, in person and on Zoom, with registration required.
